Not having enough time is a big issue for many married couples. However, this is not a good reason to have a dull marriage that is devoid of romance.

You don’t have to plan every romantic moment with your partner. It is a lot more fun to seize these moments whenever they present themselves.

Here are a few ideas of day to day moments that have a lot of potential for spontaneous romance.

Honey, I’m home

Coming home after work can be a lot more romantic than you think. It’s exciting to see your wife or husband after a long hard day at work. Seize the moment and make it more romantic by giving your partner a big hug & kiss.

Romantic getaway at home

Do you often wish you had the time or money for regular romantic getaways?

You don’t need to be away from home or spend a lot of money to enjoy a romantic getaway. You can have one in the comfort of your home.

All you need to transform your home into the romantic getaway of your dreams are a couple of scented candles, flowers, romantic music and sensuous food such as chocolate-covered strawberries.

Another simple idea for modern romance is to create a trail of rose petals from your front door to your bedroom. This gives your partner a clear sign that you’re interested in intimacy.

If you do not have enough time to go and buy roses, a trail of candles or even clothes will do. Your partner will be eager to see what’s waiting for him or her at the end of the trail.

Romantic messages

Do you call your spouse at work just to remind him or her of your love? This simple gesture says that you are thinking of him or her.

If you feel a phone call is too disruptive, send a text, email or sneak a romantic note into their lunch. You can also mail them a Rolodex card with your contact information and a short note saying “call when lonely.” If you are going for a much grander gesture, send some flowers to their work place.

Modern romance requires you to seize romantic moments as they present themselves. Don’t wait until you have enough time or until you get home from work to be romantic. Take advantage of your break at work to leave your husband or wife a romantic message.
