Relationship Tips for a Happy Marriage Part 83: Dance

Dance is one of the most popular and fun activities for couples. It is romantic and brings numerous benefits.  Ball room dancing for instance gives spouses an opportunity to snuggle-up close to one. Also, dancing can be pretty good exercise.

Dance for your Marriage

Fitness and Health – After a hectic day, most people do not have the time or energy to work out. Dancing can help you burn calories, relieve stress and improving your strength and flexibility. It is collaborative in nature and this makes it a lot more fun than talking a walk or going to the gym together.  In addition, it challenges both your body and mind.

Communication – While dancing, partners constantly communicate with each other through body movements. One partner (usually the man) leads the dance while the other follows. The leader must therefore give clear and distinct signals and the follower must listen carefully for these signals and respond to them.

Romance – Dancing involves a lot of touching, moving and holding which is good for romance in the marriage. Needless to say, it is good for spicing up a marriage.

Confidence Boost – Most people get a confidence boost from learning to dance. There is just something about learning something and new and exciting with your partner. When you are confident you can be more at ease with your partner and have a lot of fun.

Slow Dance with your Spouse

Slow dancing was made for couples.  Unfortunately, most couples reserve it for special occasions when there is absolutely no need to. You can enjoy a slow dance with your spouse from the comfort and privacy of your living room. Just move furniture around, light some candles and pop your favorite romantic music CD into the player and your dance floor is ready to use. This way you can enjoy the dance in the company of your loved one without worrying about the DJ changing the music or some other couple bumping into you and your partner during the dance.

Don’t have a plan for this week’s date night? Learn to dance and enjoy fun activities for couples with your loved one.
