Relationship Tips for a Happy Marriage Part 84: Sunrise/Sunset

On April 2, 2014, Posted by , In All Posts,Happy Marriage, With No Comments

There is no better time to put your romantic date ideas into action than at sunrise or sunset. It sounds cliché, but it is true. The amber glow at sunrise or sunset infuses most romantics with dreamy inner warmth and makes the experience memorable.

While sunrise/sunset is certainly a site to behold, there is a lot more that romantic couples can do to besides just staring at it.

Sunset Picnic

A sunset picnic is one of the easiest romantic picnic ideas to implement. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you want it to be.

For a memorable picnic, you will need a couple of basics such as a large blanket and a basket full of treats.  The treats can be anything from cheese and fruit to salads depending on your tastes. If you would rather have a heartier meal, grill up an entrée before you leave the house and wrap it in foil.

Once you have these ready, proceed to your chosen location. It can be your local park, beach, botanical garden or even your backyard! All that matters is that you are able to see the sunset from your chosen spot.

Sunrise Breakfast

Ever thought of putting your romantic date ideas to work at dawn? Sunrises are just as wonderful and romantic as sunsets but most of us miss them because we are either asleep or rushing to get ready for work when they happen. This is why sunrise breakfasts are perfect for weekends.

You’ll need to wake up very early to buy or prepare breakfast. It helps to know exactly when the sunrise is going to be so that you don’t miss it.  There are lots of sunrise/sunset calculators online for this very purpose.

You’ll need to get to the chosen location at least 45 minutes before sunrise, so make sure you pick a safe place.  Getting there early gives you ample time to enjoy all the color in the sky before the sun rises.

Sunset Cruise

Catching the sunrise/sunset from your backyard may be a good idea when you are at home but it won’t cut it when you are on vacation. Most popular travel destinations have spectacular sunrises and sunsets and it would be a shame to miss them.

In most travel destinations, you can enjoy a sunset cruise while sipping a beverage of your choice. A cruise is the perfect way to watch as the sun dips towards the horizon and bathes the clouds in a fiery glow. In addition to the sunset, you may also see dolphins, sharks and other marine life. Most cruise companies will offer a complimentary drink but you can always choose to have a romantic dinner at an added cost.

When was the last time you enjoyed the beautiful miracle of a sunrise or sunset as a couple? Even if it has been a long time, there’s no need to worry. After all, there is no shortage of wonderful sunrises and sunsets. If you do not catch one today, you can try your romantic date ideas tomorrow.
