How do you make a happy marriage last forever? By constantly seeking ways to improve and inject new life into it.

Unfortunately, many married couples relax when things are going well and only begin working on their marriages when they hit a rocky patch or start having marital problems. What they fail to realize is that it’s easier to work on a marriage when things are going well. It’s easier to keep the momentum going than to regain it once it has been lost.

How to Make Your Marriage Last Forever – Marriage Tips

Keep Having Fun Together

Times flies when you are having fun, and one way to make a marriage last forever is to constantly seek new ways to have fun with your spouse. This keeps the relationship from becoming old, boring and stagnant.

One way to have fun together as a couple is to try new things together. This means being on the lookout for new adventures and hobbies that can help you bond as a couple.

Lack of time or money is not a good reason to not have fun with your spouse. If you want a lasting marriage, you’ll have to get used to carving out time for each other and then protecting that time. Also, fun doesn’t have to be expensive. You just have to be creative. For instance, doing chores together as a couple can be a lot of fun.

Keep Forgiving Each Other

Marital problems are inevitable. What matters most is how you deal with them, clear the air and move past them.

Arguing over the same things over and over again is a sign that there are still unresolved issues and feelings. These unresolved feelings and pent-up frustration can build-up with time and become a threat to your marriage.

If you want to have a lasting and happy marriage, you have to be willing to forgive your spouse every time – as many times as necessary. This doesn’t mean that you should condone or ignore repeated offences. It means that you have to be willing to let go of the resentment.

The only way to keep resentment from building up and threatening your marriage is to keep forgiving each other.

Give it Your All

Marriage is not a 50/50 affair; it’s not about meeting in the middle. The only way to have a long and satisfying marriage is for both of you to give 100% all the time. This means that you must be willing to do whatever it takes to make the marriage work – even when you feel that your spouse isn’t giving it their all. You have to be willing to give more than you get and to put aside your own desires in order to serve your spouse.  If you both do this, you’ll enjoy a long and happy marriage.
