Romantic Gestures for Everyday Life

Romantic gestures should not be reserved for special occasions. In fact, there are many easy ways for couples to be romantic every day of the year.

  • Toast each other every day during dinner. Every day during dinner, tell your spouse what you love about him or her and then drink to it. Note that you don’t need a sparkling drink for this. A glass of water, iced tea or any other drink will do.
  • Break your after-work routine. Everyone has some kind of after-work routine. Most people head straight home to spend time with their families or pets, while others head to the gym.  It’s good to break the routine every once in a while, if your schedule allows it. For instance, you can meet up with your spouse after work for dinner, bowling or any other fun activities for couples.
  • Take lots of pictures together. Have you ever thought of making a scrapbook of your everyday lives together? It will be a lot of fun to look back at these moments down the road. So, don’t save the camera for vacations and special occasions. Get it out and start taking pictures of your everyday life.
  • Set aside interesting articles for your spouse. If you read an article that you think your spouse would find interesting, set it aside for them. If it’s on the internet, send your spouse a link. It’s a great way to show that you were thinking about them during the day.
  • Do something thoughtful every day. Nothing says “I love you” like thoughtful romantic gestures. They can be as simple as making a cup of hot chocolate for your spouse or leaving a love note on the night stand.
  • Be generous with compliments. Practice giving sincere compliments to your spouse until it becomes a habit. Remember, don’t flatter your spouse but rather give a sincere compliment.
  • Dress up for your spouse. Most people tend to dress up when meeting strangers but let themselves go around loved ones. Flip the script and start dressing to impress your spouse. Wear your spouse’s favorite color, outfit or flagrance just for them.
  • Enjoy the intimacy of physical touch. There is a reason why physical touch is one of the five love languages. It is one of the best ways to make your spouse feel loved and wanted. Start holding hands, hugging, snuggling and putting your arms around your spouse at every opportunity.

The above tips on how to spice up your marriage are evidence that you don’t have to go out of your way to be romantic. You can easily incorporate romantic gestures into your everyday life.
