How to Build a Beautiful Life…and Marriage
We hear a lot of words used to describe a great life: abundant, successful, good, fulfilled.
But what about beautiful?
What if your life — and your marriage — could be described not just by what you accomplish or how much you have, but by the beauty that flows from within?
A beauty shaped by kindness, grace, peace, joy, and purpose.
Now, let’s be clear:
Bad things happen. We carry wounds, regrets, and scars. This isn’t about pretending everything’s perfect.
But beauty doesn’t require perfection.
It grows from authenticity, intentionality, and love…especially in your closest relationships.
A Simple, Beautiful Reminder
A while ago, someone shared an email that really struck me, not because it was flashy or new, but because it was beautiful.
It was titled:
“25 Awesome Tips For a Beautiful Life.”
I’ve edited it slightly, paring it down to 20 of the best. Take a few minutes to read through them. Maybe choose two or three to practice starting today.
20 Tips for a Beautiful Life
- Walk 10–30 minutes daily. And while you walk, smile. It’s the ultimate antidepressant.
- Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes a day. Just be still.
- When you wake up, seek God’s wisdom and guidance for your purpose.
- Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants. Eat blueberries, apples, broccoli, and almonds.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Make three people smile every day. And make sure one of them is your spouse.
- Don’t waste your energy on gossip, regrets, or things you can’t control.
- Life isn’t fair. But God can still bring good out of it.
- Forgive. Life is too short to hold grudges.
- Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does!
- You don’t have to win every argument. Sometimes, “agree to disagree” is the best answer.
- Make peace with your past so it doesn’t ruin your present.
- Don’t compare your life or marriage to others. You don’t know their full story.
- Only you are responsible for your happiness.
- When disaster strikes, ask: “In five years, will this matter?”
- Help those in need. Be generous. Be a giver, not a taker.
- Your job won’t care for you when you’re sick, but your family and friends will. Cherish them.
- Envy is a waste of time. Love is life’s greatest wealth.
- Each night before bed, thank God for His blessings.
- Remember: You have hope and are too blessed to be stressed.
Beauty Comes in Small Acts
If we each chose just two or three of these to live out daily, imagine how much more beautiful our lives and marriages could become.
Not perfect. Not stress-free.
But centered. Connected. Purposeful. Hopeful.

You deserve a beautiful marriage. And with a few intentional shifts — starting with one small step today — that life can be yours.
