How to Make Your Husband Happy:Get Along with his Friends

Are you looking for advice on how to make your husband happy? Try getting along with his friends.

Not getting along with your husband’s friends can be a source of great conflict in your marriage. This is especially true if your husband has known them for a long time. The last thing you want is for your husband to feel as if he has to choose between you and his friends.

Be Yourself

Many wives believe that they need to show interest in sports and other traditionally manly hobbies in order to get along with their husband’s friends. This couldn’t be further from the truth. You have a much better chance of getting along with his friends by just being yourself. For instance, if your husband invites you to go to a game with his friends and you don’t know much about the sport, don’t pretend to know. His friends will see through the facade and probably lose respect for you. Instead, just sit back, enjoy yourself and ask questions where need be.

Secondly, don’t be offended if your husband’s friends don’t seem interested in talking to you or getting to know you better. It’s probably nothing against you. Men and women approach friendships differently. Most women tend to be very talkative when they are with their friends but men bond by doing activities together. For instance, men are perfectly happy watching sports together without talking.

Let Him Spend Time with the Guys

If you want a healthy relationship, you cannot be your husband’s only support system. Both men and women need to spend time with friends of the same sex. Therefore, let your husband spend time with his friends without making him feel guilty for “neglecting” you. An afternoon with his friends, every now and then, will not keep the two of you from spending quality time together. Also, your husband’s friends will like you more if you not actively trying to keep their friend away from them.

Keep in mind that spending time with friends is a great way to recharge. Would you rather spend quality time with your husband when he is happy and energized or when he is tired and indifferent? Also, absence makes the heart grow fonder so he will probably be more excited to see you after spending time with his friends.

If you have been wondering how to make your husband happy, try encouraging him to spend some time with his friends and family. He’ll come back energized and eager to spend time with you.
