Relationship Tips for a Happy Marriage Part 58: Dinner By The Fire

Winter is the perfect time to experiment with indoor date ideas. Just because you are not in the mood to go ice skating doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with winter date ideas. You can spend a warm and romantic night with your spouse without having to compromise on comfort. Simply have dinner by a cozy fireplace in your home or build a camp fire in your backyard.

Romance by the fireplace

If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace in your home, you won’t need to do a lot of planning. Just get a fire going in the fireplace, order your favorite meal and enjoy a special date night with your spouse.

If you prefer to have a home cooked meal, pick something simple that won’t leave you exhausted. It won’t be much of a date if you fall asleep as soon your head hits the pillow. Both of you should at least remain awake long enough to dance, watch a movie, talk or cuddle.

Also, do the bulk of the dishes beforehand so that you don’t have to worry about it after dinner. Leave whatever you use during dinner until the next morning so that you can just relax and have fun.

Backyard Camping

You don’t have to spend the night in the middle of the woods in order to enjoy camping. You can have a similar experience but with a lot less inconvenience in your backyard or patio. Just build a fire, lay out a blanket or mattress and order some dinner.

Best of all, the glow from the camp fire makes almost everything seem romantic; throw in some candles and star light and you have the perfect date night. However this kind of romantic camping works best when it isn’t too windy. Otherwise, you won’t be able to enjoy the night as the fire and candles will be blown out.

When it comes to romance, nothing beats dancing under the stars. Bring some romantic music but don’t spend too much time on this; a simple mp3 player will do. When you ask your partner to dance, put one earphone in their ear so that they can hear the music as well.

Once you are done with the dancing, you can settle down and roast some marshmallows and then cuddle under a blanket.

There is no better way to add some much needed fun to this December winter than with these winter date ideas. Spend some time cuddling with your spouse by a cozy fire as you usher in the new year.
